Volleyball Of The Rockies (VOTR) has been donating time, money, nets, our facilities and our volleyball expertise in the volleyball community since 1988. For almost 15 years starting in the early 90’s, VOTR volunteered to run the March of Dimes Mudd Volleyball Tournament. In 1998, The Island Opened with a “Beach Bash” Fundraiser benefiting Denver Kids and the Tennyson Center. Later that year, VOTR began donating their building and staff to help the local volleyball community run Volley4Charity which is has raised over $250,000 to date and is still going strong. Over the years VOTR has supported other volleyball related events like Lobsterpolluza (Angel Eyes Foundation), The Rusty Scott Memorial Classic, and the Denver Girls and Boys Club tournaments and we have donated nets and volleyballs in Africa, Nepal and Mexico. In 2022, VOTR began hosting the AVP Denver Open and $10,000 is donated to Volley4Charity from this event each year.
In 2024, VOTR adopted a membership model for all participants so they could manage waivers, rosters, rankings and player profiles. They also decided that a portion of each membership fee would be earmarked for volleyball related causes in Colorado under the heading VOTR GIVES. This player fee currently raises over $20,000 annually to support volleyball in Colorado in 5 beach volleyball related areas:
